Description
The phenomenon of motion sickness can be explained by balance research. In so-called "kinetosis" there is a conflict of our sensory impressions. While driving, the eye perceives rapid movements - the balance organ in the ear, however, reports rest and standstill. This creates dizziness and nausea. ZINTONA capsules are herbal medicinal products with the known and positive effects of ginger, which can prevent these complaints.
The effects of ginger have been known for thousands of years and have been proven by numerous clinical studies. Seafarers like Columbus already used ginger to combat seasickness. The ginger rootstock contains a viscous balm, which consists of essential oils and a hot substance, the gingerols and shoagols. Preparations made from ginger root stock are said to have antioxidant, antiemetic, anti-inflammatory and stimulating effects on gastric juice, saliva and bile formation as well as on the intestinal function.
ZINTONA is effective against motion sickness or seasickness and can also be used for stomach or digestive problems. ZINTONA is also suitable for children from the age of 6 and should definitely be in every first-aid kit - so that traveling does not become a torture.
The ginger as a medicinal plant?
Ginger is well known in the form of ginger ale or as ginger sticks. If these stimulants are consumed while traveling, one unconsciously ingests a medicinal plant against motion sickness. The effectiveness of ginger in preventing nausea, dizziness and vomiting as symptoms of motion sickness as well as vomiting after operations and during pregnancy has been proven by numerous clinical studies.
What does ginger contain?
The ginger rootstock contains a viscous balm (oleoresin) which consists of essential oils and a hot substance, the gingerols and shoagols. Preparations from the ginger rhizome are said to have antioxidant, antiemetic, anti-inflammatory and stimulating effects on gastric juice, saliva and gall formation as well as on the intestinal function. Therefore, ginger is used successfully in both conventional and complementary medicine for the treatment of motion sickness.
What is motion sickness?
Many people have had motion sickness before, either personally or as a witness. It starts with yawning, tiredness, difficulty concentrating, headache and can lead to nausea and vomiting.
Illness is not the right word, however, as all symptoms disappear within a certain time as soon as the journey, i.e. the movement, is interrupted or ended.
Our equilibrium system is responsible for the phenomenon of travel sickness. The researchers call it “kinetosis” (“Kinein” is Greek and means “to move”). Motion sickness always has to do with movement that we don't actively do ourselves.
With kinetosis there is a conflict of our sensory impressions. When driving a car, the eye perceives rapid movement. The equilibrium organ in the ear, however, reports rest and standstill to the brain. Balance research assumes that the brain tries to resolve the conflict with high levels of the hormones dopamine and serotonin, the so-called happiness hormones. As a side effect, signs of dizziness or severe nausea can arise.
What is seasickness?
Seasickness is a phenomenon that many people suffer from on the high seas. It is a special form of motion sickness, so-called kinetosis. As with journeys by car, bus or train, kinetosis arises from a conflict of different sensory impressions. In the cases mentioned, the eye signals rapid movement, but the balance organs report a standstill.
In seasickness, the conflict is exactly the opposite: the organ of equilibrium signals to the brain that the body is in motion. The other senses, v. a. Of course the sense of sight, but give the impression of standing still. The brain reacts like it does with classic motion sickness and increases the release of messenger substances that can cause dizziness or nausea.
Even famous seafarers like Cicero, Charles Darwin and Lord Nelson suffered from seasickness. The philosopher Seneca is said to have jumped into the water on a crossing from Naples to Puteoli to escape his nausea, and the Chemnitz machine builder Carl von Bach started planning a tunnel between the mainland and the island in 1873 after a terrible journey across the English Channel.
